2.0 vs 2.4 for my goal

My end goal is i want to run 10s. Big goal and dont plan on hitting it right away but i would like to build the motor for it to handle the power the first time around. I want just a weekend car that i might take down the strip one or twice a year.

I have read and im still on the fence about this, with it being on the streets im not sure ill rev it up that high, but i want highway power for sure

If you have a built trans go 2.4 if your running stock driveline, go 2.0. From what I've seen the stock trans doesn't handle torque very well.

In my opinion the autos handle more than a 5 speed. If you are running an auto, I would do the IPT clutch kit / Translab shift kit / converter and largest cooler you can fit before you go with the 2.4L. Probably don't NEED it all, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
