I need to fill and bleed my ps system but I am having the hardest time figuring out what to use and where to find it. I know the manual says Dexron II and a lot of people use that but I can't get that locally and need it this weekend. Manual also calls for Mitsubishi plus ATF but I can't find that. The next option is Dexron III but I can't find that either. Is Dexron IV safe, is anyone running it? Even Dexron VI?? Any other local AZ auto parts store options? I'm trying to stay away from ps fluid. So what do you guys run and where do you get it from?

I myself just use prestone power steering fluid, not the stuff with any additives.just plain ps fluid, that I get from Wal-Mart.I have been running it for a year now with zero negative side effects. That's in my 2gnt if it makes a difference.

I'm trying to stick with ATF, leaning towards Dexron IV if confirmed people have used it successfully. But thank you for the input.

Alright went out and bought some autozone dex/merc. It claims to be compatible with dexron II so here goes nothing!

I always use Dex III. Just put some in today actually haha but anyways after searching around a lot, Lots of people like to run that. Cant really go wrong its just hydraulic fluid but what you have will work fine

Anything after Dex2 is going to be backwards compatible. SO, find some Mobil1 DexVI or whatever the latest is and follow the filling procedure. I however, prefer what the manual states. I will pay to play.

And in 20years you could use dex40 in your dex2 required ps fluid system.

Yay.
