I am planning on replacing my stock o2 housing for a better flowing one.

I have an evo 3 16g to stock o2 housing to 3" exhaust I believe the opening to the exhaust is 2" maybe 2.5"

I am just wondering if I should get an evo 3 o2 housing or something like the megan racing o2 housing, or the ebay Tubular Recirulated Stainless Steel 2.5" o2 Housing, which I found a write up on dsmtuners about and no bad reviews that I seen. Just looking for input thanks :thumb:

With the Evo 3 O2 housing, I don't think your down pipe will bolt up correctly. I know that it was an option to have my down pipe fitted for stock O2 housing placement or Evo3 O2 housing placement.

Just so you know the Evo III o2 housing lines up a little differently with the exhaust and requires a little modification to get it to connect to a stock placed downpipe. If you go that route Road Race Engineering makes some downpipes that connect to an Evo III o2. If you have already bought your DP I would not suggest going this route.

I just purchased a recirculated Stainless Steel o2 housing from Punishment Racing and I love it. Worth every penny. But I am sure Megan's is just fine too.

Of course you could save some cash and just port your stock one if you are handy...

Well I just stripped the stud off of my stock o2 housing LOL. I had an exhaust leak and I was doing to see about replacing the gasket but now I decided to just replace the entire o2 housing.

Did your Punishment racing o2 housing bolt right up to your downpipe?

Just get the Megan, cheap O2 housing from a good company and sold pretty much by every DSMTUNER vendor. If you ever decided to go external WG then I would look into getting something like the Punishment O2. But the megan will be fine for you.

my experience with aftermarket o2 housings is that they create more heat . after going with punishment racing recirculated external o2 housing my engine temps got hotter . don't know if the none external ones are the same but i had to put a colder stat to get temps down . i guess that is the price you pay for modifying your car.

Glad you mentioned that, I was trying to decide if I should upgrade my radiator too, think I will now.

i had tried a radiator but it didn't help . when i changed the stat to 180 and rapped my o2 hosing is when my temps went back to normal . if you are only going with a recirculated housing without the external waste gate you might be ok .

Are you sure Lou98gsx? After installing my SS o2 housing I felt like heat was down. The SS gets cool enough to touch way quicker than the cast o2 housing and ambient temperatures in that area just feel cooler. With the car running I can stick my hand around there and notice a difference from my cast one.

I could be wrong but that was one of the things I was really happy and surprised about after installing it...

Also, there have been no coolant temperature increases in link since my install. So even if I am delirious it hasn't negatively affected coolant temps... it sounds like there may be something else going on that is unrelated...

They get hot quicker, they get cool quicker....and they also crack much quicker than the cast factory housings.

Not necessarily an o2 housing, but I've seen stainless tubular headers the same thickness as these aftermarket o2 housings get so hot they ruin paint on valve covers. It's also believed that the added heat and lack of a heat shield with the stainless o2 housings contribute to more failed alternators.
