my first SAFC settings were pretty good with 16* timing advance at 5800 rpms.. i decided to skip a couple notches on the SAFC to lean it out and this is what happens :| car pulls, but not nearly as hard as it was. DO NOT tune in increments of 4%...

and the moral of the story is to NOT tune that SAFC without a logger. I could have leaned out my motor and blew it up before I knew it if I hadn't checked my logger tonight :notgood: the bottom one is the settings I currently have and will be logging tomorrow. needless to say they're 2-4% richer.

-Sorta the same reason why you shouldn't Jump out of plane at high altitude w/o a parachute.
OR
-Kinda why you shouldn't drive at night w/o no headlights.

*I'm glad you figured it out......common sense in my book.
:p

LOL I think you missed my point. I obviously know the effects of tuning, but my main point was to forewarn those who are NEW to tuning.. and to make them aware that leaning 4% can cause MANY problems..
