How much do you have to spend? I would ditch the Iridium plugs for the NGK BPR7ES. Port work, Shifter base and linkage bushings are nice and cheap,

stoner - Ok, I will switch to the NGK's. Thanks for part number there. Yeah I was thinking of doing the shifter mods next. I need a short shifter and the linckage as you said. The performance store here in town has a B&M for like $75.00 for my car. I think i will start with that and go from there. I REALLY want the port work done as well, I just think that will have to wait. What about cams and gears? I think I would want to do that sooner than later. Before the end of the year when I get the biger turbo and Front Mount Intercooler. Thanks for the input too man. I will pick those plugs up today after work.

I'm thinking your don't need the colder plug yet on the stock turbo at 15psi, but if it is working fine, then cool. You might go ahead and get an SAFC-2 and start tuning with it. You will be able to pick up some more horses even with the T-25. I didn't realize their was a Pacesetter header for turbo cars.

GPTourer - Yeah, I didnt know they did either until I had a performance shop call them up and they set yes they did. This is going to sound dumb but I really dont care, I am new to all of this stuff, and if I cant ask questions I will never learn anything. What is a SAFC-2 ? Where and how much can I get one for? Thanks for the help too man.

I know you said you don't have the money for a turbo right now but I would put money toward that before cams. You could find a used 14b or 16g for now and hacker / tweaker install. I promise you will never regret ditching the T25. If you are thinking of doing any porting you will have it torn apart anyway. I regret waiting so long to upgrade my turbo (all of that wasted time driving my car with that tiny turbo, what a waste ;) )

The SAFC or translator is a good idea too.

Here is the safc II, its made by apexi http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_electronics.asp
Most performance shops will carry them, & if you can check out ebay there are a tonn of shops selling them on there for a cheep price. The safc is a piggy back fuel controller, it modifies the signal going to the ecu to trick it into thinking a different amount of air is entering your motor therefor allowing you to adjust your air/fuel ratio. This is good beacuse under wot your car will run very rich, leaning it out abit will make more hp. But if you start to play with with your air/fuel you defently need a logger to figure out what the changes you make are doing as it is possible to to run way to lean & cause damage.

You can pick up an safcII new on ebay for ~$250 (may be cheeper now, haven't looked for a while) and then depending on your logger setup it would be close to $200. So for 450 you could get that or for a couple hundred more you could get a new turbo & you'd notice a huge difference.

daren_p - Thanx for the link and the info man. Yeah I KNOW I need the bigger turbo. I do have the money for one, but I have other things in my life right now that are priority over my car. I just want to get alot of the smaller less expensive things done, then go all out on it after the first of the year. I just recently moved to the south and it is a HUGE change for me. I like the SAFC-2 idea but its like you said, couple more hundred $'s and I could have a bigger turbo. But when I get the bigger turbo, I want the front mount too you know. That thing costs just as much as the turbo does.

you can get a b&m short shifter for $75 WTF i'll pay you $100 if you seng me 1 for a 2g.

Sorry...Stupid of me. I was looking at the wrong line. B&M shifter is $125. My bad man. I was looking at an EGT guage. I have a boost guage and Air Fuel Mix guage. But my Timer has a better Air Fuel on it so I wanted to get rid of the one in my pillar and get an EGT guage.

If your looking for some cheep upgrades, I would defently recommend the b&m shifter. Get that and get the urthane bushings that go under the shifter plate and get bearings to go in the ends of the shifter cables where they attach to the transmission. The combo works amazing, my car shifts nicer then anything else I've tried including the S2000. With the b&m you have a choice of how much you want to reduce your shift, by 35% or 50%. I set mine at 35% as I & most others find 50% is to short, I like abit of travel and with the 50% it sometimes hard to tell what gear your in.

With your current setup I think I would recommend the safc/logger combo or other method to tune & log your fuel system. With those 550's and larger fuel pump your probably running rich as hell, a fuel pressure regulator might be a good idea as well. I'm not sure the specs on the pump you have but it may be over running the stock fpr.

daren_P - Thanx for the advice man. I actually just got some wild news. I have NEVER gotten a loan or anything before, so when I was checking out things at the local performance shop. I filled out a credit app and got approved for some money. i think I am going to get the bigt urbo and front mount IC now. All the other stuff can wait for a while now. i REALLY appreciate all the help guys. Like I said, I am VERY new to all of this and it helps you guys know allot about it. I'll keep you posted on the happenings.

I am not trying to be an ass or anything but you definately need to read up on some things before you go for the turbo and fmic. Are you going to be tuning this car and installing the parts? Or is the shop you speak of doing it? Take you time read the tech articles here and www.vfaq.com has good stuff too. Plus quite a few other forums have good info.

Tuning is not really easy, especially if you dont know what you are doing. Being a newbie to DSM's you will have much to learn about these cars, so set aside a few hours a couple times a week to just search and read.

Good Luck.

Stoner - No man, I know you are not trying to be an ass by any means man. Yes the shop I am buying the items at will be and have been doing ALL the installs. I actually got a bit more money approved than I thought. They are ordering me ALLOT of stuff. The 20G turbo, Front mount IC, Forged Pistons and Rods, New head, Cam shafts and gears, and if I had the sheet I could tell you what else. They are VERY VERY DSM savey there. The guy who owns it has the same car I have and I am doing pretty much what he has done to his car. Mine will have ALLOT more supsension mods done to it because I race mine on road courses not a drag strip. But other than that, he REALLY knows what he is doing. I REALLY appreciatte all of your insights guys. Like I said, I will keep you posted on what is going with it.
