What Muffler Should I Get?

Well I have made a couple extra dollars so I have decided I am wanting to get a brand new muffler for the Talon. Now the question is what kind of muffler should I get. I am probably going to buy the muffler off Ebay to keep the price down till I can get my whole cat back system in the next month or so.

I don't want a muffler that sounds like a fart can and that the tip is like 4" big... 3" I can deal with.

Here are a couple I have in mind at the moment...

The first one wont work, it has a 3 inch inlet. 3 inch exhaust on a N/A is a bad idea. The second one would work though, I wouldnt go any bigger that a 2 1/2 inch exhaust on an N/A.
 
I like the DTM Dual's better anyways. I am thinking thats what I am going to get.
 
I'm not a N/T guy, but is a straight-through muffler a good idea on a n/t?

That 2nd muffler is CHEAP! Funny how the buy it now price is less than half the shipping cost. But it's pretty damned long (25"). I'd take a peek under the car and see how your existing muffler is installed. On a 2gt, the muffler is angled, and there are bends in the muffler outlet tips so that the twin tips come out the bumper cover firing straight back. If your stock muffler is like that, you'll end up with twin tips firing out to the driver's side, because the eBay unit's tips don't have the bends. The tips might not even fit through the exhaust cutout in the bumper cover. On the other hand, if the N/T muffler fires straight back, you may be cramped for room between the bumper cover and rear-driver-side wheel and end up with 8" of tips sticking out the ass end like a hot rod or something.

I just got done replacing the can muffler on my 3" exhaust, so I spent a couple days on my back on a creeper under my car staring at the situation as I was fabricating. I'm pretty sure you couldn't install that muffler firing straight back without forcing the tips to stick out 5" beyond the bumper cover. My muffler+tips was about 20" long and stuck out "just right". There was not much room left for the exhaust bend behind the tire.
 
Straight through muffler will be fine. I had an Apexi N1 on my old N/T and thats a straight through muffler, it sounded real good.

Now, this is just my personal taste, but I think those bent tips on the second one look ridiculous. What I would probably do is to figure out how much room you're going to need and then cut those ricer ends off (just the bent part). This is something that I might actually end up doing sometime soon now that I have a nice little exhaust leak and a reason to replace the exhaust.
