Ok, just to clear up a few things, the car is a 2g AWD, the boost controller is the high performace (with corse and fine adjustment).

Ok and are you sure you have the MBC set up correctly? That would explain why you are hitting 20psi. Make sure to close the fine adjustment screw ALL the way in. The take the course adjustment screw which is the gold plated one and bring it all the way out, meaning unscrew it until it stops. Try that and see if you get 0psi when you boost which you should. Then start screwing the course adjustment in 2-3 turns and try again until you get about 12-15psi and you should be good.

Sounds to me like he dosn't have the MBC hooked up to a boost source, or a good enough one, I know on my 1g TB the vaccume of the nipples on the TB didn't provide enough vacuum to control the wastegate, try getting your source from somewhere else.

Your not supposed to use the TB nipples for the MBC anyway. The 1g Intake manifold provides 2 boost sources for you to hook this up. One is for the fpr and the other one i have no idea what the name is so lets call it vaccum source 2 LOL

Ok, here is how I have the boost controller hooked up. I have a T-conector in the vacume line that goes between the throtle body and my greddy type-s blow off valve. The hose coming off of the T-conector attaches to the brass nipple. The hose that comes off of the blue nipple goes to the aculator. I tried switching them just to see if they were hooked up backward and it made no difforence. As for completly closing off the fin adjustment skrew the instructions said never close it less then two turns from close which is where I have it set at with the course all the way open. Can I close off the fine adustment more, or is it unadvisable?

Just tried it with the fine adjustment all the way closed...no help.

When i head to storage to check on the car i'll let you know exactly which way it goes. I have it teed off to the bov line as well

I think that the more you open the fine adjustment (or bleeder valve) it actualy increases the boost, and closing the fine adjustment increases the boost to, but I'll try anything now. I'm just afraid I'm going to blow my engine.

Ok heres the deal i went to storage and checked how the xs mbc was set up. The course adjusted side (gold plated) has to be going to the tap you made on the BOV line. Then the blue fine adjustment side goes to the wastegate nipple. Make sure you close both the fine adjustment and the course adjusment. For the fine adjustment to be closed turn the hex key to the right until it is tight. Make sure the screw is all the way on the bottom. Next for the course adjustment(gold plated) turn the hex key and bring the screw all the way out. Thats how the course is closed. Make sure its not in all the way like the fine but all the way out. Thats how you get zero boost on the xs mbc. Now to increase the boost only touch the course adjustment(gold plated). You might have to get it in around halfway but take the car out for a spin and only do one or 2 turns at a time until you reach 12-15psi but remember not to touch the fine adjustment. You only use the fine adjustment once you set the course adjustment to 15psi. I have pictures and stuff to show you but i won't be able to post them till later. If you still get the same problem then the xs mbc is bad, don't bother with the instructions that come with the xs either are they are total garbage. If you need any other help let me know.

It sounds like I've had the boost controller set up right from the get go, and had it set at the lowest boost level posible, and an still having problems. Hopefully I will have time tomarrow to pick up some tubing and try and run the car with out the boost controller.

get another mbc then...just go make one of the home depot ones then

Bringing back from dead, I have the same problem with my wastegate actuator nipple facing right into the intake. Anyone else have this issue and figure out a way to fix it?

Here are some pics so people can better understand what the problem is.

The consensus is that you just can't run any intake bigger than a certain size (2 3/4 I think) unless you use an offset connector like the one that forced performance sells for their 4 inch intakes. Bending the nipple will give you a little extra room but your other option would be to cut open the actuator itself turn it then weld it back together, if you search for the peepers wastegate mod there are some instructions.

I just bent the nipple on my evo3 or you can get a vacuum elbow fitting.
