Hey guys, I just went and picked up another ESI to swap my engine into and everything. This car *used to* run before people stole the radiator and ECU off it -.- and intake...and battery...anyway! This isnt a stock manifold? Atleast I don't think so? My question is, what are they, and are they going to be better than my stock manifold? and yes, I know this is one of the messiest engine bays ever... :shhh:

...and the picture didn't work....one second

It's debatable on which is more reliable. I haven't seen a single stock manifold of a 420a that didn't have at least one big crack in it, but on the same note I haven't seen very many eBay headers (yes OBX is eBay) that haven't cracked either.

A header moves the power band slightly. it doesn't actually INCREASE hp, it just MOVES where it's located.
and if the rest of the exhaust system is stock, it really wont make any difference either way.

and a header with a stock cat and cat back sounds like crap. the most riced out crappy sound i've ever heard.

I have 3 inch cat back magnaflow

3" on a N/T is overkill and will gain less HP then a 2.5"

think of exhaust gasses like this:
when a cylinder fires it releases a cloud of exhaust. as it travels down the exhaust pipe, it creates a little vacuum behind itself, and this pulls the next cloud behind it.

the bigger the pipe, the less this little vacuum is, the harder your engine has to work to push out the exhaust, the less HP you make.

by adding a turbo, you're adding more air and fuel to the engine, which makes the cloud bigger, which in turn uses 3" to it's advantage.

the rule of thumb is:
2.5" non-turbo
3" for turbo

LOL...

okay. well i'm not sure. i've never seen a cat-back made by magnaflow. (it could exists though)
he could have just put on a magnaflow muffler and the rest of the exhaust is stock.
would have to see a pic of it from under the car.

Well I've confirmed it runs to the header, its all shiny and has magnaflow written on it
