what kinda grinder stuff to get??

hey all, i was wanting to do some simple porting work on my own...turbo, o2housing and maybe my manifold but i dunno what i really need to do it. I know i need a...umm...die grinder or something???? but what else do i need? what kinda tips do i need to get?? is there anything im leaving out?? how much does a decent die grinder and some tips cost so i dont get ripped off... i was just gonna like go to lowes or home depot or something. any help would be cool

Standard Abrasives stuff is pretty good. They have porting kits for around $30-50 depending on how many different sanding tips you want. And you could buy a die grinder at one of those discount tools stores for around $30. That would be plenty for what you will be doing. Check them out online. Just do a search.

I use a RotoZip and carbide bit for all my porting work.

RotoZip- 35.00 (I think, bought awhile ago)
Bit- 30.00- at ACE hardware

Get an extra head for when your grinding makes the current one useless.

Don't try porting without a flowbench, and about fifteen years of practice.

are there places you can go to flow your heads? we worked with flow benches in school its a good piece of equipment especially when building race car

i didnt see him ask about porting the head .. he said turbo, O2 housing and possibly manifold. I think those would definatly be ok to port without a flow bench. Be carful on the turbo though.
