I've got a well takin care of 97 GS-T with 65,000 miles on it. I wanted to see a little pre-dyno guesstimate of what i should have. Here's my mods:

K&N filter
3" Cat
3" tanabe cat back exhaust
Joe P MBC @ 15psi
TurboXS-H34 BOV
Walbro 190LPH
Ported o2 housing
small 16g

I'm putting the turbo on in a few days, and I haven't decided on a down pipe yet. Do you guys think i should get a 3" downpipe or will the 2.5" be plenty. I don't "PLAN" on doing any more mods besides an S-AFC and injectors, and i might not do that.

I don't have the car all together yet, but I have all these parts besides a downpipe. So lemme know what you think. And if you have any suggestions for something I should add, i'ld like to hear that too.
 
Definately do the 3" downpipe. Then add some 550cc injectors and SAFC to complete your project. You are really getting held back with no IC piping but I would imagine you could probably put down 215whp the way your setup is now. Good for mid-low 14s @ 102 or so.
 
That 15psi is hurting you. With the FWD your losing 60ft so you need to do all you can to support the top end mods. Get a FMIC, upgrade your fuel system completely, and turn the boost up once you get it on the dyno. I would not give you the same estimate as the last guy just because your running at 15psi and the FWD is going to hurt your ETs unless you get traction adders like a LSD and drag radials.
 
I ran a 14.5 with intake, turbo-back exhaust and boost @ 15psi in my 94 FWD, so that is what I was basing my ESTIMATED time on. Good points by nightmare, although FMIC and whatnot is another 1K or so, he may not be looking into a big project, just a spiced up daily driver. So if that is your intent, get an UICP, SAFC and 550cc injectors. Tune it and call it a day :thumb:

I see what your saying but 1G FWDs tend to do much much better with less mods.

I don't know what exactly it is because some 1Gs can weigh as much as 2Gs. Maybe it has to do with suspension setups or chassis stiffness but statistically 1Gs do fair better with less mods than 2Gs. Just an observation, I did not hire a instatute to conduct a study or anything :D
 
better intake, better throttle body, better bov, better turbo from the factory.. you asses have too many advantages :D envy my mas bitches :D

Sorry to get off-topic...but doesn't a 2G GST come stock with 210ish hp? Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't those mods gain more than 5hp?
 
2g's come with 210ish hp at the crankshaft hes talking about wheel hp. there is a loss of hp through the drivetrain
 
LOL thanx guys, i'm definitely getting the UICP, i just haven't had the chance, I got the 3" tanabe off a friend for $50 because his car is non-turbo and the original owner bought it, but he doesn't want it. LUCKY ME since i have the only 2g GS-T out of the group.

I got the exhaust in my garage, and i put the fuel pump in 2 days ago, but now my t-25 seems to just suck more, so i bought the S16G, hopefully that helps. I want to put this car into the 13s, if you say 3" downpipe, then 3" downpipe it is, unless somebody disagree's.

The injectors and S-AFC are soon to come, but i want to put this all together and make sure it runs right first.

Oh and the 15psi is what i'm runnin at now, because the T-25 sucks the better half of my nuts, it has more power at 15 than 10 obviously, as long as i shift a little early when i tach it up, i'm able to run around 1G's all day.

Im callin BULLSHIT on this one, I do believe I raced you just the other day with my 1g and i waxed that ass. Along with your own little brother with his from a roll with his AWD 1g, My little sister with her 1g put a spanking on that ass. and i could list at least two more but I will spare you the embarrasment. You not a toolbag you are Harbor Freight. :p

Hopefully your car gets faster with this small 16g for your sake. But its all in fun.

What did my 2g have... a smaller than stock K&N filter, and boost controller on a t-25, and i could stay right next to you. HA... bite me and by the way there have been more than enough times that i have waxed your ass aswell.

Ha thats funny cause my sister payed 4,000 dollars for her car, what did I pay again? 1,250 dollars? yea thats right. and the only time you ever beat me is when I had no downpipe gasket and half a manifold gasket. O yea and my car had how many miles? 151,289, and it had a differential that was totally screwed. You only kept along side of me till about mid 3rd gear then I pulled pretty damn hard. keep in mind you started this, I only replied after I saw that you posted "I run around 1g's all day" haha. Now lets not trash each other, we are a DSM family. Lets just keep on embarrising these stupid Hondas with motor swaps and these 30,000 dollar VW's. :dsm:

i have a 16g powered car now thanx, and i'm calm, my saying "waxed that ass" was mocking what he originally said to me.

LOL... don't take what i said the wrong way everybody, he's a friend of mine, i was just playin around. I figured i would get in trouble for that post. just disregard it. i was just takin shots back at my friends...

anyway... lets not forget my cars not runnin right, which you know... and i've said this before, i chose a 2g for the looks, i want a nice fast car... imagine the 1g i could have if i spent $9,000 on it... then you'ld have nothin to say... I don't want a 10 sec car... i don't even want an 11 sec car... so whatever, keep it as a dsm family is cool as long as you guys remember that too, which you seem to forget a lot... Its more like a 1g familywhen eddie and you start runnin your mouths.

So, on a 1996 Tsi Awd, will a 2.5 DP, and intercooler piping make a significant difference? Asumming I already have intake, BOV, boost controller, and catback.
 
the IC pipes definetly make a difference your response, and power are noticeable increases. And the downpipe will help because the stock one gets small around the bend, assuming you get mandrel bent
 
Dont mean to hijack the thread or anything but..

on the topic of drivetrain loss...

import tuner tested a 92 awd talon. They put down 157 to the wheels. Is tha normal? I wanted to use something to base off of for my awd talon.

I've always wondered what my car in its relatively stock form would put down to the wheels. Even with basic mods like hard piping for intake and intercooler and a full 2.5" straight through exhaust and 15 psi on a 14b, i'd hope to put down at least 200 at the wheels. Am i far off?
