what kind of fuel injectors are best for a stock GST 98 kinda-stock

im looking to buy new injectors for my eclipse because i think the old ones are leaking or not working good because im loosing so much gas every drive, i dont understand how the "CC" works, so for a stock gst with minor upgrades like, BOV, 10.2mm spark plug wires, what would be the best choice for me, something in the middle because im not sure if higher CC can damage my car or not. thanks.

What do you mean youre losing gas everytime you drive? Like are you leaking gas from the engine? Or does it has to do with your mpg? And if you dont have any mods that have increased airflow over the stock setup then you dont need any bigger injectors than stock.

If you want to go a little larger that stock you could grab some 550's. If you want to do anything other than stock you WILL need a tunning devise like a S-ACF, DSM link etc... This will let you turn up the boost safly and you will be able to through on a 16g or somthing if you want. my .02

'slinare' asked a few good questions, and there has already been some good advice given. I would like to reiterate what a few have already said, If you do not have an SAFC, ECMtuning (DSMLink) or another way to adjust the factory fuel settings, do not put anything larger than 450cc in your car. It is not needed, you are putting your engine at risk, and you will actually loose horse power.

I have heard of 2g guys having great success with a Evo/3g MAFS, and the stock evo 550s, but they still needed a little fine tuning. You could go with EPROM ECU + a custom chip specifically for your set up, but if you are interested in making more power, and you plan for upgrades in the future, I would invest in something like the ECMTuning program.

I see what you are saying, and you are absolutely right, but the thread is titled "what injectors are best..."

There is something that obviously needs to be addressed. But we can diagnose an issue with "i'm loosing gas when I drive"

haha, thanks you guys, i actually need more help, im have TERRIBLE MPG and i thought it was the injectors, but i was actually hopeing to get a 10 sec education about injectors, i dont know if injectors are the problem but i thought i needed new ones, for instance, i'd get about... barely 100 miles PER 75% full tank, so yeah, thats kinda a problem, there are a few funny smells too, but to be honest i have "NO" sense of smell but my friends say there is a small gas odor.

You have a few other things to consider when calculating MPG's and why your running a low number. Doing basic maintenance to the car would help your MPG. Check the air filter, if it needs cleaned or replaced, do so. Check your fuel filter, if it's dirty or needs replaced do so. Change your oil/filter. I've seen these items improve MPG's on my DD from 26 to 34, in just a hour of two of maintenance. I would check and replace those things first before thinking of replacing fuel injectors. Also, check your gas cap, if the seal is worn on it, you will smell gas, and the gas will slowly evaporate, causing you to lose fuel in the tank. Also check the fuel pump housing,(located under the rear seat), to make sure it's tightly snug on the tank, if loose gas can spill out when your going over bumps. If you do need/want to replace your injectors I would recommend 550cc injectors. They are 23% larger than stock, yet are still small enough to compliment your setup without to much problem.

How do you know you are loosing gas? How do you drive, do you stay out of boost or do you hear the turbo spool while do drive? I don't think this is an injector issue, maybe a boost leak problem making the car run rich or just the way the driver drives.

So you are getting 125mile to the tank? Please explain how you are calculating your MPG.

What are your driving habits? (how heavy of a foot do you have? is it mostly city driving? that sort of thing) Depending on your modifications and tuning, you should be getting 250mi or more to the tank.

How well does the engine perform? Is it sluggish?

Maybe FPR? I have seen one go bad and the car had like 120psi fuel pressure. It ran like shit.

Do you have a logger of some sort? Your O2 might be shot which would kill your gas mileage.

Is that SSQV bov venting to atmosphere? If so you need to recirc it asap.

i've replaced air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, valve cover, valve cover gasket, i have a uninstalled fuel filter, i dont flourish it at all now, just hiways 18 miles total a day, a full tank lasts... like 3 days? sometimes less, and again i dont flourish it now, im gonna try autozone's free o2 sensor checking before i try something expensive, but those are all very good suggestions you guys, thanks for all the help, but i wouldnt mind hearing some more 'maybes' and 'could be'

I'm having the same issues, but before it was a boost leak, now I think its my air filter..
