What kind of clutch is this.....Any ideas?

hey everyone, i pulled my engine today to try to solve my metallic oil problem, but when i removed the tranny from the engine i found this clutch. The car is a month and a half old and is a piece of shit....the guy i got it from said it had a ACT 2600 with a OEM 3000GT disc. I just bought a unsprung 6puck ACT to change while i had it apart. Now i find this. The pressure plate has no markings, no serial numbers, just the number 135 on one of the splines. It came out of a 92 TSI AWD. Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

i have the exact thing laying around, its red with no markings with a 6 puck disc, my thoughts were xtd or southbend clutch. i would like to know the exact name also.

Yeah I thought it was a centerforce at first when I removed the inspection plate. But once we got it out it's actually red and has none of the markings.

Hmm my ACT 2600 is yellow and has a sticker thing on it saying it is a act blah blah.. I would definatly lean towards the XTD or whatever them are.. Centerforces are generally orange right?

could you tell by how the clutch felt when it engages? looks like he wasn't completely honest with you.

Yeah the pedal feel was almost like stock. My brother has a ACT 2900 and it felt NOTHING like that. It had good grip, the disc is toast. I just bought a 6 puck unsprung act thinking I had a act pressure plate. I would love to beat down the guy that sold me this car..........

I would if they guy spray painted the clutch....

I have one just like that too. Engagement felt like an OEM clutch as well. Asked the previous owner what brand of clutch it was and he didn't know for sure. Did say it was an Ebay brand though. So possible XTD...

the pressure plate pictured looks different from the SBR i've seen. got a pic of what that one looks like? It looks just like the one I linked.

If I remember correctly, I talked to a guy at SBR a while ago and HE even told me that the manufacturer sells to both ACT and SBR, except they're painted diff colors, take that as you wish.

This clutch *looks* like my ACT 2900 PP, just spray painted a different color. It's not even painted well, you can see overspray on some parts. My pedal is VERY heavy though, maybe a 2100 or comparable?

Called slowboy and they said their pressure plates usually have stampings on them. He said a company called clutchnet makes one that is red also. But the paint on it is crappy. I don't know money is tight right now but I hate to put it back in if it's a crappy pressure plate.

My ACT 2900 has an engraved serial number and the fins look a bit different.
