What is wrong with this tire?

Hey there good people,

could someone please explain to me what is wrong with this tire and why it happened. I didn't actually ever drive with it, so i'm clueless :shrug:

.. basically it looks dented at one point to the right side and a little further it is dented to the left side??

The rim itself looks fine though

Shifted a belt pretty badly on that one.

Shifted/Broken belt.

Why it happened: who knows. It tends to happen randomly. I'd call up the manufacturer and see if they'll help you out

Looks like nitto nt 450's. Maybe the belt inside broke in half because the outside follows the same grain as the inside. How is the inside of the tires?

Depending on mileage and vehicle alignment specs, you shouldn't have a problem with getting a new one. That will more then likely be classified as a manufacture defect! Contact the company or the dealer which you bought it from!

Yep broken belt, just had one break one a brand new set of toyo's. It was replaced but still a pain waiting for shipping both ways.

Your tires look very worn, i wouldnt have ran them anyway. Doubt the manufacturer will replace tires that old. Looks like time for a new set.

Most performance tires don't have a mileage warranty, and if I remember correctly NO Nitto sports car tires do at all. So don't count on getting any credit back for how many miles are on it. Also, it looks to me like you're down to the 2/32" wear bars, which means the tire is legally worn out, so you're not going to get an adjustment for treadwear.

In other words, the tire has lived its life, part of it broke, and now you need to replace it and most likely the other three.

I had the same issue with one of my nitto neo gen's. I had to get a new one out of pocket.
