I was having my oil changed and my tranny flushed and the garage showed me and told me this boot was torn and grease was like comming out and it needs to be replaced, whats the exact name of it so i know what to tell the garage to replace, theres also another one torn that i dont know the name of, its the smaller one on the joint, also a small rubber piece. The bigger one is the boot right next to the tire. spanks for the help

the big one is called the cv boot and the smaller one is the sway bar endlink. Dont worry about the endlink, just get your cv boot replaced

It'd be a good idea to get that boot replaced fast. I know on an old car i was leaking grease and tranny fluid and i never noticed until i drained my oil. Ends up i had a bad CV joint and almost lost the tranny because almost all the fluid drained out. But if just grease is coming out then you'll probably just need a new boot i'd suspect.

yeah its just grease commin out, we were lookin at it when he was changing my oil, tranny fluid is fine, soon as i can get it in the garage its gonna get fixed. Thanks for the help.

Erm.... I don't see any sign of a leak on that boot. When they leak, it leaves a trail of polliwogs all over the inside of the wheelwell, all the suspension parts, the boot and the tire and brake.

Of course, if that mechanic just cut that boot, it wouldn't have had a chance to leak until you drive it.....
