What is the best tire size to run

Just bought a 92 laser with 215/45r17 tires that are bald and flat any idea if I can go bigger not sure if the saying bigger is better applies here or if I would need new rims to do so in any case does anyone have a preference in what tire works best with these cars it will be a DD and will see rain and snow

All depends on your wheel width
I like a 225/45/17 a little better as its closer to stock circumference. What is your wheel width?

I'm honestly not sure I know the ones that are on it are 225/45/17 and they look good not sure how much width the rims can handle
