Reason I'm asking is because I didn't use a tool. Didn't have one. Auto stores were closed and the tranny was on the ground.

That's what I thought. Thanks.

Tranny went on no problems. I'm betting all that tie rod bashing I did is what's causing my trouble. Well, that plus the axle boot is sheered.
