This morning I went to start my car up to warm up and about 5 seconds into the car running a belt broke off
...To me it was the belt that tha alternator is hooked up to but i noticed that the poewrsteering belt wasnty moving... my dads a mechanic and he said that it might be the balance shaft...I was in a rush to go to school and my dad was in a rush to go to work so tharts what hes guessing...I also noticed last night that it made a pop noise from under the hood like a belt slapped something but the car ran fine...But my question is if the balance shaft did break or wear out...should i replace the $250 part or get the eliminator kit for $44??

and i was wrong bout him sayin the balance shaft...he said something with balance in it and the first thing that came to my mind was the balance shaft
