Code:
Ok.. my car threw a P050 code which is a idle control system malfunction code. Which was indeed affecting my idle it'd idle at 1300 then it'd jump to 17-1800 and it would keep doing that.. so I switched out the ics and I had to take out the battery to get to it... I was just driving. It earlier and it was throwing no codes at all.. then it threw the same code again.. now if I disconnected the battery it should have reset the code correct.. it wasn't on when I turned the car on..it just came on not too long ago.. I cleared the code .. and I'm going to drive it and see if it comes back on.. but my idle is fine...
SO what else can through a idle control system malfunction code.. the sensor I put in wasn't brand new but I couldn't see both of them being bad cause the new one helped my idle

i guess it couldn't hurt to look at the proper way of reseting the codes(you might of done it right) i don't know. not familar with the 99s the ecu might have a capasitor that has to be drained.
I tried... saw it was a lonley post

well.. i talked to my dad about it and come to find out i only replaced the back half with the plug in on the idle control sensor i pulled the actual whole thing out and it had horrible carbon build up..... so i am going to clean it when i get home.. because that carbon build on there can throw a code so that is probably throwing it

UPDATE...

i tried a differnt ics.. a black one that are not prone to fail as easy... and i was still surging... but wasnt sure wether it was the isc or not.. couldve been ecu...

performed a boost leak test tonight found my uicp that comes right off of the ic (the plastic ic piece) had a crack in it.. sealed it up fixed another leak.. also have to small leaks out of valve cover... so i am going to try and get one tomoro and fire her up to see if it still surges and idles at 2K!!!

If you have a leak out of the valve cover, either your pcv valve is bad, or air is making it past your rings and coming up thru the oil drains. Pull out your oil dipstick and see if air is coming out of there when doing the boost leak test. A little is ok.
