Alright sorry to bother you again about this. i found this rebuilt engine on ebay. if i bought this and dropped it in my car and installed a turbo kit would it be fine runnging 6 to 8 pounds of boost. tell me what you think and suggestions. i dont want a 4g63 so please dont say sell your car and get one. thanks guys.

I'd get some more info on the engine and the builder. You truly never know who you are buying from on ebay. You should be fine running 8psi. I wouldn't go much higher than that...

my engine now burns oil and dont run right at all. has 170,000 on it. i need a new engine or rebuild. Should i just buy the rebuilt block and head from dsm graveyard. if i do i need to find a core i can send in.

Yeah thats a lot of money, and you would be taking a chance with an ebay product. For that amount of money you could get a quality rebuild using better parts that suit your needs.

Since you want to turbo the engine I think it would be a much wiser choice to have the engine built to handle boost rather than buying a stock rebuit and slaping a turbo kit on it. If your going to shell out that kind of money for a new engine you might as well do it right.

You can call and ask anything you need about the motor, and if they bullshit you, they are liable for a new engine.

If you want one from DSMgraveyard, let them know you will be buying one. If they know they have a for sure buyer, i'm sure they'll make it work. No reason to buy anything off ebay. They are hit and miss but it's not a guaranteed thing either.

Considering that you can either buy a rebuild kit for alot less or just get a different car with a good motor for probably less from someone on craigslist, i wouldnt bother. Atleast buying from someone in person, you know some what of who youre buying from.

1. Way to expensive..
2. You can rebuilt it yourself with that money and have some left for a turbo.
3. With that money you can buy another eclipse with a 420..in good running conditions.

Don't do it. My work used to use these guys for their engines. We no longer do buisness with them. The last engine we goot from them had the gears missing for the balance shafts and the rings in cyl 4 had 90% leakdown.

I'd be careful with dsmgraveyard. I ordered a manufactured head from them. He said it would take 10 days to build/ port it. And 2 days delivery. Which is 12 days.... I called and kept in contact with him every week. He bs'd me pretty bad. It took nearly 2 1/2 months to get it to my house. And a friend of mine got the wrong parts sent them back and never received money or new parts.... maybe others had better luck, but he's the last place is order parts from again. Just my 2 cents.

Well, in all honesty. Do you really like your 420a? Because i'm telling you, the money you'll spend, you can be rolling a turbo 4G63 like I said before. If you really want to stick where you are, then rebuild, or find an engine. But, eBay is unreliable as all hell, so is Craigslist. You can try junkyards since the 420a came on many different cars. But honestly, you can only rely on buying from friends and vendors, and even then...
Otherwise just rebuild man. I mean 420a engines around my area are dirt cheap. They can be had for $100-300 easy. But for spending 1,700$, #### that. I'll get a 1G.

Really? I've bought a few parts here and there from them with no issues. Fast shipping usually, but never bought anything built by them, so I can believe you there. They seem like cool guys and all. But, that's the price of the business world.

When you promise something in 10 days, and you overshoot that, you have two choices.

1. Be honest, and explain that it took longer than expected (Best policy, but most don't do it).

2. Bullshit you, say that they shipped it out, or some crap like that.

Honestly, they should just be honest because I know if they called me and said, hey dude, we're a little backed up and your head will take a bit longer, i'd say "That's okay, thank you for telling me. Let me know when it's ready".

Most people would. Lol.

Alright well i might of just found a 420a out off a neon. i can get it cheap. its a friend and he is a mechanic. said it runs good. if the engine runs good and i buy a turbo kit for it off ebay what else will i need except for a tune. i only want to run 8 psi tops. here is the turbo kit.

im going to buy turbo and a/f gauge. anything major though i need that isnt with this kit. let me no please. and thanks. i no ebay turbo kits aint the way to go but im doing it so please just answer my questions
