Use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation when posting in our Tech Forums - don't use texting/instant messaging lingo here. This isn't an English class, but we demand that you at least make an attempt or your posts will be deleted. Internet Explorer users should download IEspell or just use Firefox since it has spell check built-in.

:ohdamn: A 1g manifold will only fit on a 1g head. A ported 2g head looses a lot being ported to put on a 1g manifold. It's a toss up.

Manifold differences of volume vs. velocity has been discussed a lot so make use of the search button.

The 1g head WILL NOT fit onto a 2g block. The head studs are different sizes (11mm and 12mm[1g]) and you would need to drill and tap the 2g block and put in larger studs to put on the 1g head. Use the 2g head and if you want more flow, use a 1g TB and the Evo3/RVR intake manifold.
The 1g throttle body is bigger than the 2g, but the 2g manifold inlet can be ported to match the 1g throttle body.

I use a 6bolt block, 2g head, ported RVR intake manifold and a rebuilt N/T throttle body.

I'm sorry if I didn't meet the forums standards for proper punctuation and spelling. I will try to do better. Thank you for your input. I forgot to mention that I am doing a 6bolt swap. So my 2g intake manifold will not fit on a 1g head? And why use a 2g head on a 6bolt? What are the advantages over a 1g head?

All we can ask is that you try .

No, it will not fit. I believe this should help with your question

It's all about velocity vs. volume. The 1g Evos used the 2g style head as well and as stated earlier, the Evo3 intake manifold is a big improvement over the stocker if you can find one.

If you want more information, search "2g head" as a title search and it will give you a lot of information and most of it seems to be 2g heads on 6 bolts.
