what do i need to change from a 14b to a 16g

autozone has the full exhaust gasket kit. Im sure it is in stock, last time i checked locally. $25 there. Also the usual extremepsi, STM, etc vendors will have them, just gotta wait to ship.

And yes im sure its a direct bolt on swap. Now how it runs, is entirely up to you, your fuel, and engine mgmt. you just strapped on more air, you should add more fuel...

Get a walbro 255 fuel pump and atleast 650cc injectors to support that turbo and something to tune with.:thumb: Other then that the turbo swap is straight across.

direct swap...reuse your water and oil lines off the 14b replace the gaskets and torque it down, you can stay at stock boost meanwhile you get bigger injectors and fuel pump and a safc or ecmlink then you want a afpr if your gonna use a 255 fuel pump, id port the o2 housing and turbo while you have it off

If you're going the cheap route, at least copper spray the old gaskets.

Then find some new stock or stainless bolts for mounting the turbo the manifold and use some 2400F nickel anti-seize before putting them in.

All this can be done for $50 and is very much worth it.

I would advise not to do what the above post said to do if this swap is going to be a permanent one with the eventual plan to run high boost. Please Don't cheap out on an important piece of the puzzle.

Care to elaborate on what, specifically, you have an issue with?

The first statement is qualified with: "If you're going the cheap route, ..."

Because most DSMers are cheap bastards and insist on bandaid fixes. All of which is sound advice.

I have had a gasket blow out before, and simply by copper spraying it and letting it setup, then cranking down the bolts I was able to get home with no exhaust leaks from Racine all the way back to Chicago on the highway.

And it worked just fine for the next few days of 40 mile (each way) commuting while I waited for some stainless gaskets to come in the mail.

On a used, but intact gasket, theres no reason why this wouldn't be sufficient.
