What did you notice with a clutch?(upgrade)

From a stop my car is really bad to race and on lower rpms it takes a while to grip and put power down.

What did you notice when you put in your clutch? FWD guys

Where you able to race better, race from a roll, put more power down?

umm you will probably notice the clutch instantly gripping when you let off it... thats kinda the point

Basically a good clutch is all the same, its designed to grip which is what it should do. A new clutch isn't going to give you a performance boost, only from a bad clutch will you see this.

The ACT upgrades, etc are for cars with more horsepower and is designed to be able to take more abuse than a stock clutch.

I might be with the minority on this one, but IMHO, in order to get a good launch with FWD, you need to have a clutch with good slippage and holding power. In slipping the clutch, you can apply more torque to the ground than if your tires are spinning - if you can slip the clutch to be at a good torque level and push the tires just to the verge of slipping but not over, you can get the best launch.

For those of you who subscribe to Turbo magazine, check out an article called "The Year of the Clutch", July 2004, p.20.

He's talking about 1000HP cars that run 7's with huge slick and LSDs, but the same can still hold true on a 250HP car on street tires that's only putting the power to the ground on one wheel.
