I want to freshing up my engine bay. Ive looked at a buch of pictures and see alot of things missing under the hoods, for example the hoses around my intake manifold. I know I can get rid of the abs but I have to get non abs lines. Is there some things in my pic that I can remove without having to replace with other things to get a cleaner look>

Almost everything is going to need to be replaced with another part. The only thing I can think of you can just remove is the AC lines. Of course then you won't have AC. If the hoses around the intake manifold you are refering to are actually the cable for the CC you can reroute them under the intake manifold so they are out of sight. You can also take some time to reroute and hide you wiring harness better. Some people lower the battery down further in the bay which would only require modification to the tray while other put it in the trunk which you would need addition parts for.

You can get rid of the CC cables with a non cruise cable, get rid of the PS (hard to find non PS racks), Get rid of the A/C, and remove most of the emissions vaccum tubes.

where would I find non cc cable? ac is going, it dont work anyway. Im pretty much a noob, which are the vaccum tubes/lines

Talk to Keri, she will be able to hook you up with most of the stuff you are looking for, at a good price.

Otherwise, search for the taboo vacuum diagram to look for routing.
You can also remove your evap and egr systems if you live in an area that will allow you to do so.

If you do a emissions delete let me say.

DO NOT DELETE YOUR PCV SYSTEM!

What's going on with your BOV recirculation? LOL

You could find a new catch can location and shorten up those lines some.

It looks like I see an AFPR, you could mount that on the firewall and make it look cleaner (i.e. s.s. lines)

I like the 2g maf in a 1g :thumb:

You could also get a spark plug wire cover. Possibly relocate your ignition coils at the same time (put somewhere on the drivers side strut tower)

Also get everything to match in color. I think it helps a lot. Right now you have red, blue, black, grey, pink etc....

And like everyone has said, just clean up the wiring a little bit. Make bigger groups of wiring so it's not all spread out.

Have fun!

Ac delete, non cc cables, get some zip ties and go to town, start by grouping wires together and rerouting wires and what not for a cleaner better look. Whats up with your recirculation tube? Battery relocation, plug wire cover. Good luck keep us updated!

1. Get a BOV you can recirculate.
2. Non-cruise control throttle cable. I got mine at a junkyard for $3.
3. ABS delete.
4. Relocate the battery.
5. Find a better way to plug the vacuum ports on the throttle body.
6. Spark plug wire cover.
7. You could chop the drivers side mount in half so the front part is no longer there. I've seen some done like that.
8. Delete the A/C.

I know alot of this is replacing things, which you said you didn't really want to do. But there isn't much of another way.

The non c.c. throttle cable is like 50 bucks.....I've searched and some people say the ones from auto zone is the same or will work and its only 32. Anyone used this, or will one work from a 90-94 non turbo?

Just get the one out of a non-turbo as long as it doesn't have cruise control. That's what I did. It works fine.

I think the one that is part #16645 is the correct one that you would want. And that's because of the way the bracket that mounts to the intake manifold looks. The other one looks wrong, or it's just a bad pic of it. #16645 looks like mine.

Oh, and if you look at the applications for each one the #16645 is made for a 2.0 and the #16639 is made for the 1.8.

So definitely get the #16645.

Looks much better!

Im assuming you found that you needed a non abs proportion valve?

I just rebuilt my engine and plan to start getting rid of stuff when all the bugs are worked out.

I already deleted the emmissions (all vacuum lines removed and capped), egr (made my own egr blockoff plate), charcoal canister, and the 3 solenoids and bracket on the driver side firewall.

Ac was ditched a long timee ago but i chose to keep the ac fuse box so i could still use my ac fan and control it with the ac button. Much cleaner and easier than wiring the fan to a toggle imo.

I am going to mount my battery in the rear. Not in the hatch, outside and under the car like my friend did as he made a custom enclosed box.
