What are the odds I broke something?

Hello guys just curious if anyone has any similar experience with there car. I bought a 97 Eagle Talon for parts that had a fully built 2.3 stroker and stage 2 head from Magnus. I test drove the car 3 times and ran great then I trailered it home in gear and tried to start it to get it off trailer and it wont start. Sounds like timing is off and stuff is crashing. It fired up very briefly. I am waiting for a spot to clear in a friends garage so I can pull motor and tranny, which was original intention to put in my 96. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what the odds are that I broke something. I am going to re time and do a thorough walk through of engine but just curious while I wait. Thanks

If it was fwd and you had the front wheels on the ground in gear then yes, you killed the motor. Depending on what gear you were in it could have revved to 20k. If it was awd and any wheels were on the ground you probably fried your transfer case and/or motor.

Moral of the story, don't drag a car in gear.

Sorry should have clarified, it was trailered on car trailer in gear to stop from moving as well as strapped down

I agree it sounds odd but its the only thing that makes sense based on the cars symptoms. First thing I am going to check is timing. First thought was out of fuel so I added fuel and same deal.
