What are the fastest BIG 16g powered DSM's?

I'm wondering what the fastest BIG 16g DSMS there are out there. I'm looking to take my Talon to the next level this summer with a fully built block, port/polished head, etc. and I want to know what other people are doing with 16g's (besides selling them for bigger turbo's heh heh heh ).

Sorry I can't directly answer your question, but if you go to www.dsmtimes.org it has tons of helpful info regarding 1/4 mile times and turbos.

I believe the fastest gone on a 16g is a 11.70. Honestly since you already have a 14b, why not go with something larger all together? You know the fastest 14b went a 11.80. You really want something that in the end you won't gain as much as you were expecting?

The whole reason I ask is because my car came with a big ported 16g.

I heard the 16g record was 11.5 on a small 16g.

there is a guy in e'town with a SRT4 with the stock 16g turbo he ran a 7.45 @ 9x mph 1/8th basically all stock except exhaust, intercooler piping, & a 100 wet shot nitrous.

My personal best on my big 16g was an 11.65 @ 117mph. this was with a completely stock internally 7 bolt engine in a 92 Laser AWD. I am most impressed with this time because of the very stock nature of the car and lack of supporting mods for this level of ET. My mods at this time (2001) were big 16g mildly ported, 2g exhaust manifold, 2 1/2" pressbent turbo back exhaust from Buschur, Hallman mbc, supra fuel pump and mallory regulator. Centerforce dual friction clutch and center diff spool. Technomotive stage 3 chip for 2 step launch and no-lift shift. Upgrade sidemount IC and 2 1/4" homemade upper and lower IC pipes. Stock 450 injectors, stock mass air meter inside the aircan. Very stock appearing. That run was on a 100 shot from a Nitrous Works kit. The car ran a best of 12.44 @ 108 on motor but would'nt pull above 6500rpm prompting me to pull to engine and check it out. Had severe crankwalk so I built a 6 bolt with je pistons,no balance shafts, and ARP fasteners being the only mods. My times so far (2003) on the new short block are 12.03 @ 112 on motor and 11.57 @ 117.8 on a 75 shot. My 60 foot times are 1.65 average off bottle on stock wheels and tires (205/55/16") I look forward to better times with the additions of much needed injectors and gm mas and translator.

:laugh: all of a sudden having a 100 shot of nitrous is "close to stock" - those srt4's are quick as shit

Funny, I never considered it, but I think I should be on that list as the fastest, though definitely not the quickest. I ran 118mph with my Evo III Big 16G. No nitrous. 3315lb car with me in it.

I have a feeling that those high 11 times could be surpassed with serious weight reduction. Phil, who posts on this site sometimes, ran about a flat 12 with a 14B. Granted, he has his AWD reduced to 2600 pounds, but if you did the same with a big 16G, then I could forsee mid 11s...

A buddy of mine ran an 11.4 on an Evo 16 a few months ago. Not much difference. I think the big16 has alot of potential. I will be getting the most out of them this season.
