So i just bought a 1995 Gs. I was in need of a car. I am a complete noob with all this stuff. so please dont bash! im trying to learn knew things. I bought the car and im 16, i have no idea what kind of mods this car has. I know it has turbo but i dont know what kind or how much Psi. Can you please help me out! If you can try and see through pics what kind of mods i have, could u tell me thx! i would greatly appreciate it!

Closer pictures.

Also, your parents shouldn't have bought you that. :)

Ok! these are the pictures i just took. hopefully there not to dark or not to bright

Hahah, i actually bought it. took me like 2 years to actually save up. The only thing they have paid for is they paid the first year of insurance. Everything else is up to me =)

I see it has a park bench on the rear. It looks pretty clean from the pics you posted. But we need much closer pictures than what you have supplied us.

yeah im definetly going to take off that spoiler to big! it looks way to riced out like that. LOL

Dont forget the nawzz! :thumb: Not a fan of vinyl stickers and body kits, but boosted 420a's are pretty good motors if done right. I did some research a 420a bore size is 87.5mm and the 4g63 is 85mm bore. the stroke for the 420a is 83mm and the 4g63 has a 88mm stroke.

thx! yeah the stickers are overdone. The guy riced it out LOL. But i dont mind it. As long as i take off that spoiler, im fine as it is. I did post some new closer pics though. Are they not visible?

Car looks clean and apparently the previous owner spent some good $$$ on it. By what your pictures show, i know you have a garrett turbo and the intake manifold. Take some pictures during the day. Try not to mess too much with it because there's no telling what they really did to it and who knows if they did it right. hopefully they did

I don't know what's done to it however I will give you a "parental" warning.

Don't be a stupid naive kid speeding down the road and trying to show off thinking it's cool and nothing is going to happen to you or anyone else.

A turbo vehicle isn't exactly a good first car if you don't have any previous experience. Treat it with respect, obey the laws, and you should be fine.

So, what was your reasoning for buying this car? Did you take it for a buyers inspection?

Ok, thanks so much! i'll probably post pictures tomorrow morning. I'm guessing the turbo isnt big right?

Yep, motor pics look good but its not always whats on the outside that counts. If you like your car and it makes u happy keep it. I would go to your local trusted mechanic or tuner and have it checked out keep the maintenance up and get a good tune on there. I use to have a 98 eclipse with a 420a and a garrett t3 turbo setup, but my sister totalled it after 2 months after the build. but like i said if you enjoy it and it. makes u happy keep it. Always nice to see boosted 420a's rolling. :thumb:

Yeah i definetely wont! Parents said that if i get a ticket within a year for speeding then they will take away the car and sell it. The reason why i bought this car was because ive always loved eclipse's and Dsm's! i wanted to buy the 420a first because i wanted to see why everybody would talk shit about it. Later on i'll prob buy the gsx. Also my cousin has a sick RSX, so i wanted to get a nice sports car also. Thx for the advice! i'll take that in mind

yeah so far im loving the car. hopefully nothing bad happens to it soon. But if anything, when my car dies, i'll probably get a GSX. Right now i dont know why most people hate 420a's. there good cars. its just because of power probably. but oh well.

Most people don't have turbo 420a Chrysler motors either. That motor is just as capable if done properly, along with any motor for that fact.

Did the previous owner say why he was selling it and have any paper work to go with it? The only way to know for sure what it has is to go through everything to see what the parts are. Any interal engine work done?

Do you know when the timing belt was replaced, don't go by what s/he said? Paper work or personal knowledge only for verification. If not, have that as one of your first things to do along with all other maintenance.

Also to note ive been around alot of turbos 420a's that where pretty big where i use to live, and alot of them where ebay and autozone guts. So not saying there not bad. Run what u got just keep it maintained.:hellyeah:

The reason why he sold it was because his nephew was bugging him to much to let him borrow the car. And the guy was like 58 yrs old he said he was done with cars like these. That these type of cars were for youngsters. He said he was going back to muscle cars LOL. We got the title to the car. but yeah right now im prob gonna take it to the mechanic on monday bc the speedometer stopped working, thats the only thing thats wrong for right now.

yeah for right now im going to keep it like this and get it all maintained. Ive been reading that 420a's cant handle much on turbo though. is that true?

great looking car man, had a stealth for my first car and ragged it out :( just lose that C-130 on the back and you will be good

yeah the spoiler is way to big. thats probably my 2nd thing on my list to do. take off the spoiler

You can run the 420a beyond the limits of a fwd tranmission to put down power. You can't do it on a stock block though.

Really all you can tell by the pictures is that it has a garett turbo, fmic, smim, and a bunch of braided ss hose. Or at least alot of hoses with a sleeve kit on em.

And and a bunch of ricer mods that could be sold off and put towards some maint etc. You will probably get tired of those vertical doors after a few weeks.

That's what a lot of people say, that 420a cant handle a turbo b/c it will tare into pieces, that you'll see a piston pop thru your hood and kill a bird in the sky, blah blah blah LOL...will it handle boost well? off course, like i said before: If you turbo a 420a, make sure EVERYTHING is done RIGHT. The only reason why so many ppl talk s*** about boosting a 420a is b/c it will take tons and tons of more work and $$$ to get it to reach high hp numbers that a 4g63 will.

one question man; how much did you pay for your car? if i can know LOL

Power is endless... How long it will last and running a built motor and what not is a whole different story imo. Most people dont wast time on them becuase of the power plant the 4g63 motor hands down has. But proving a 420a doesnt always have to sit on the backburner is priceless.

LOL! funny thing that you said that. After like 2 days, i got tired of the doors! but it cant be fixed. i forgot what the mechanic said though. something to do with the body kit and the way they shaped the doors

well my dad traded his jimmy bc it was just lying there but i had to pay the rest which was like $3,000. So i bought this car for like $5000 with what the GMC jimmy was worth. the car has 84,000 miles on it. like i said the guy wanted to sell it right away so he sold it for a good and low price in my opinion

do you think it was a good price for it or no?

Sence you mentioned erlier your looking into a gsx in your future, you could always maintain it and clean it up and later on to sell it when your ready to purchase a gsx. Its a good starting ground to start off with. before you get a gsx that takes all your money... And it will :shhh:
