My first car and DSM. I loved this thing to death... I put so much money, time, blood, sweat, and tears into this thing over the 3 years I've had it only to have it destroyed in a few seconds. After popping the hood I found that my AC condensor is trashed, my radiator is bent to hell, and my radiator support is toast. So my question is with the radiator support is it just bolted onto the car? or is it not that simple? One nice thing is fixing the car will cost me very little since I have all the body panels already. I'm pretty sure it is "totaled"

How did you do that much damage in a parking lot?

And no, the rad support is not bolted in, but you can cut it out and weld in a new one.

I was turning to get out, kid came speeding in not looking and hit me.
And that is what I figured, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

Also, its fixable. Mine looked like this after a truck tried to force me off the road -

If you love your car, don't give up! Also, not its not bolted in place, I had to cut it out and replace (weld) it.

Oh I'm not giving up by any means! I've got everything I need to fix it, minus an AC condenser, radiator support, and the radiator itself. I've got two more DSMs this is just the only one running and its my favorite since it was my first, even if it is nonturbo. I guess I have to put my other one back together so I'll have something to drive again...

A/C is for wussies :p you don't need that! So that saves some time LOL :p

If it comes down to it I have an AC condenser out back, its on my parts car which is set to be junked soon. As far as I'm aware the A/C system on that car is still pressurized.

If you have trouble finding one, then let me know I'll see if its still holding pressure and let you get it for like 20 bucks + whatever the shipping is from Maryland to there.

Ah dude you can fix that forsure! thats really nothin honestly as long as you already got the panels your golden! hell i got hit by some girls and some how it ended up being my fault and my entire front end was twisted.. harmonic balencer all messed up.. broken alternator.. everything but i all fixed it only cost me 2k..:ohdamn: but the first time you fire it up and get it runnin again its all worth it

Where does this bastard live?
Send me a PM with his address and we'll sort him out mate.

Seriously though, sorry man :(
I couldn't imagine how you feel right now.

I too had bought my first car, 1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, and she's only gone 6000kms, then she sat. So a total of 2.5 years of ownership and she's been sitting for 2 years. She's being revived as we speak, but if I got into an accident I would die.

See what you can do and use this forum as a resource bud. I'm sure lots of guys would be willing to help out if they're in your area.

Good luck!

IT CAN BE REPAIRED!!! WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!!! sorry man I had too=) Im sorry to hear that but look at it like this, atleast it's not you eclipse converted talon! Can you imagine!=( you sure can fix her again and you will it sucks, I hope u ripped that guy a new A-HOLE man.

Pop your hood and drop the pass. fender, front bumper, let's get some photos of the frame itself...It does look fixable with some work!

"radiator core support" = 100 if you cut & pull.
" body work & paint = much more.
" Running again" = Priceless! :D

:thumb: For the Fallen badge in the grill.

:hellyeah: Thanks man! Back in my "skater days" Fallen was my favorite footwear company, and to this day I still put the logo on just about eveything, even the speaker grills in my GS-T LOL

If it was the Talon no doubt I would've probably knocked someone out and took out my tire iron and beat his car even worse ROFL Really though I would've been super pissed if that was the case. And hopefully soon I'll have that all together I finished the interior swap yesterday on her, just time for the outside now! :thumb: But this will cause that to come to a halt for awhile... :banghead:

Overall... Very mild. Time for a CF hood anyways. Have it measured. Probably broke your front fiberglass bumper.

Haha that is what the cop told me! He said, "Hey look at it this way son, now it gives you an excuse to get a carbon fiber hood!" And yea the fiberglass support is destroyed. When I was getting ready to leave they said "well with the bumper dragging like that its not driveable. Would you like us to call a wrecker for you?" I said wrecker? ROFL :p and ripped off the bumper and put it in my backseat until I got home :thumb:

My first one had this exact same damage done to it. it was totalled by the insurance company. I bought it and fixed it with help from a body shop. would you believe me if I told you i got the thing back together and running WITHOUT removing the radiator support? shoot if you were local we could get that thing straightened out and alighned for you for like $60. you see the grey 2g in my defult pic? THATS the car Im talking about, and that picture was taken AFTER the accident. I didnt have the spare $500 to cough up for the parts and labor to replace the radiator support, so I was told by the shop worker that ppl do this way when they dont feel like spending the extra $$$. it worked fine, everything was alighned, hood popped open like nothing, only way you could tell the car was a salvage title was if youd remove the front bumper.

Well even before I got the car it was previously hit in the front and the suport was already sort of messed up, besides my local junkyard gets in 2g's like crazy and parts are dirt cheap. So I should be able to get it done quickly. I can do all the body work with my dads help, we just can't paint. :p

That Picture Just makes me sad... I hope she gets Resurrected.

Tell me you had insurance!!!!! D;

Omg wtf... F'n idiot... Who speeds in a school parking lot...
