well, this is gonna be a fun problem.

so i recently inhereted a g2 talon with a g1 motor swap. 4g63 with the stock turbo from the g2, and boy oh boy i didnt know what i was getting myself into. well lets start from the begining. replaced the battery started the car. bam. no big deal. drive the lil guy over to my friendly mechs at pep boys and get an oil change. full sythetic. i bring her home and i start feeling issues. she has some power. but she is riding a little rough. so we park the lady and let her run for a little. then she dies. and she will not crank over again. now im completely lost. so i start trouble shooting at the basics. but the basics are not gonna cover this issue. come to find out my harness looks like someone sent a child to play on it. no but connectors or soder between wire connections, they are literally twisted and taped together. i have sensors just hanging out in the bay floating around and visiting everywhere and anywhere. aannnnndddd half my clips have been snapped. so i get down to the dirty work. pulling wires and re hooking them up the correct way. taping my connections together so they are not loose. and i try to fire her up... nothing. to be expected. so maybe its a fuel issue? unhook the return line from my fuel rail. click the key and I have fuel. so im guessing its not a lack of fuel. no on to the spark, i have the coil packs from the 1g engine and brand new ngk wires and plugs. i pull my wires and one is straight f'd up. so i replace the wires, remove my plugs and they are fouled to hell and back. so i replace them. i try to turn it over again and same thing. she sounds like she wants to fire but im getting nothing. every once and a while i get a litlle pop of a fire out my exhaust but thats it. could my problem by my coil packs? i get a strong first spark but from then on it is weak to non existant. i apreciate any knowlede that anyone will send my way. especially about a g1 motor swap. this is a MESS!!!! thanks guys.

Make sure the wiring for the cam angle sensor and crank positioning sensor is secure. I had this issue when I did my 6 bolt swapped due to my poor wiring.

Have you done a boost leak test yet? Finish doing your maintenance items and check timing. And like LarryJoe said, check your CAS.

This sounds to me like maybe you have your firing order messed up. Like everyone else said though, check the CAS wiring and make sure it isn't 180* out. CAS plays a major roll with spark and fuel.

I would definitely check the cas and the firing order. But wait, if you got it to drive then idk. Because my car wouldn't even start if I didn't change the firing order. Also do you have link in the car to invert the signal? Or at least a 1g ecu so it can operate properly with its sensors?

I'm trying to help but I just got a few questions to ask to better understand things so I can try and pin point the problem better.

Do you have dsmlink?
What size injectors?
What size fuel pump?
If 255 do you have a afpr?
Is your wire order 4-1-2-3 or 3-2-1-4?
You say you have a t25 so to make things clear do you have a 1g or 2g head?
Check to the far left of your valve cover to see if you have a 1g cas. In all honesty you should update your profile so we all can understand what has been done to the car. Because right now for all we know it is stock. And from your post I'm leaning towards it isn't. I'm guessing it has a 6 bolt bottom with 2g head only because I know I wouldn't take off the 14b in place of the too small t25.

Update and I hope we can figure this out for you.
