Ok so I have my ecu out while figuring out where the previous owner wired the AEM WB gauge to for dsmlink.

While i am down there i notice this odd bundle of wires with the larger of the 3 wire harnesses. When i unravel it I find this odd wire splicing with 4 different wires crimped together to go to the o2 sensor pin at the ecu and another mess of 2-3 wires going to the detonation sensor pin.

Now what is really odd is that it is wraped up and going into the factory harness as if that was the way it came from the factory. The final ouput wires to the ecu harness are white, while most of "extra wires" are black with red stripe (wraping around the wire not going with the wire). So my question is if this is actually the way it came from mitsu or if not if anyone had any idea what would need to be wired into the o2.

FYI the car has a gm maft(basic version), dsmlink, aem wideband and boost/egt gauge for aftermarket electronics.

Are you sure that you aren't looking at all the sensor grounds? Are the wires actually tapped into the white O2 wire, or are they tied to the braided shield that covers the wire? If I recall, a bunch of the shields are bundled together, which tie to pin #24 of the ECU for ground.

As I said, that's probably normal/stock. Those are all sensor grounds that are tied together. The extra wire connected to the O2 pin is probably the for the O2 test connector that is under the dash.

Ok thanks just wanted to make sure it was all factory, I have already found a couple little wiring boo-boos on the previous owners part

mmm nothing warms my heart like wiring problems from people who hack up the harness! At least by the pic it looks like you have a lot of wire to mess with, if the need arises LOL.

Well since that whole mess is factory i dont have too much else going on for bad wiring at the ecu, the baro sensor wire is hooked to the AEM W.B., and then there are the couple of wires (tps and vss) that are reattached from breaking at one point. At least the factory gave you plenty of room to work with the 1g harness and the ecu slides out so easily

I wish they made a patch harness for a 1g, although $100.00 for some plastic and wires is a bit much.
