Weird nosie from tire? Maybe wheel bearing/tie rod.

This is on my 95 rs, when i drive one of the wheels makes a noise,i can best describe it as "flat tire" noise or like aknocking noise, now it stops when i give it gas or if i brake? I was thinking either wheel bearing or tie rod. I jacked out the car and spun all the tires for whobbling, and nothing.....

Go about 25mph or so on an empty road or parking lot and turn left and right. If it does it more when turning left, it's your right wheel bearing. If it does it more when turning right, it's your left wheel bearing.

Doesn't get louder if you turn though? Does the noise change when you shift? Or is it only as speed increases?

i will try to turn it tonight when i go out, yes its louder when speed increases not by much like 40 is the same as 80... little louder at 80

Check your cv joints, they will quiet down under load and get loud when unloaded, how does it feel when your just driving through a curve like on an interstate or something?

I had this exact same problem when I had my GSR, It was the CV Joint.

I'm %90 sure thats your problem. Before I used to work on my own cars it cost me around $120 I think to have it fixed.

Check and see if the lug nuts are tightened all the way. Because if they aren't it will sound like the car has a flat tire. The sound stops if you hit the brakes because the brakes straighten out the wheels. If you go around a corner the rim will also go straighten because it has less give. This may sound kind of dumb but I wouldn't say it if it didn't happen to a couple of my friends. If it's not then hope the best for you. Make sure your recalls have been done at your local Mitsubishi dealership.

yup your exactly right.. the weird thing is i never loosened them, my friend told me probaly when you brought it in for your fuel filter, they problay just checked other things to add on the bill.... those assholes, i dont know if you saw my other thread but they forogt to put the fuel filter gasket on and i was leaking gas, those mother####ers i am gonna blast them monday

Good thing it was only the wheel. I think mine was because someone tryed to steal my rims. Because the only lug the was tightened was the lock lug!!WTF
