Weird noise afer hard pipe/bov install

Today I installed 2.5" hard piping for my stock sidemount and t25. The bov I put on was the greddy knock off. Here is my concern, I build boost (a little more laggy now) just fine. But as soon as it starts spooling I start to hear a loud whining noise almost. It gets to 10psi fine and holds it. I just can't stand this loud noise. I tried adjusting that screw on the bov but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. So do you think it's making this noise because the pipes are hard and I have more airflow? My only guess for a leak would be the bov flange itsself. While the bov is bolted down I can wiggle the gasket up and down a little. It seems to kinda flare out because the flange isn't perfectly flat. Also I don't think it's the turbo because when I installed I checked for shaft play and there is none.

Most likely a boost leak. Run a leak test and see what that tells you.

If you can wiggle the gasket up and down or horizontal with the flange and bov, there is probably a leak there. It definitely sounds like there is a boost leak. So do a BLT.

when i installed my greddy knock off with my fmic, there was a major leak at the flange cause the gasket that came with it was garbage. so i would say its most likely a big boost leak.

Do you think if I put some gasket sealer on there it will help? Also the bov isn't as loud as others I have heard. So if it was leaking at the flange that would decrease the noise by a good bit wouldn't it?

Yes, it can.

What piping did you install?

Another thing to check is the flange itself on the piping.
Make sure it's 100% flat, some times they are not.
So even with a gasket it won't seal properly and leak.

I would try to use some sealer first, but really; save yourself time and make a boost leak tester. It's easy, quick, and useful; for now and later down the road.

It's Cxracing's piping for the stock turbo and stock sidemount. Installed pretty easy. But I was messing with that flange beforehand and notice it didn't seem perfectly flat. Will the gasket sealer fix this issue? I do notice somewhat of a loss of power although I'm still hitting 10psi like I was before. If I get on the highway and barely build boost it seems stuttery. (If that's a word. ) I'll try pull it back off and use some gasket sealer to see if it helps.

I had the same issue when I had a GReddy RS BOV, added sealant to the flange and problem solved. It's probably just air seeping from the flange.

Just and update incase anyone has this same issue. The flange was definately not flat so what I did was take two gaskets, use silicone to stick them together, then bolted the bov on with the two gaskets. I just made sure I got them nice and tight. Worked perfectly. Boost leak is gone and it made a world of difference and the bov is a lot louder now.
