hi everyone. im getting a cyl 2 misfire. its not a normal misfire though, it happens after i drive the car about 40 or 50 miles and the engine needs to be shut down once within those miles. for example: i have been swapping the battery back and forth so it will sit in my driveway for a couple days. i will put the battery in, drive to work, park the car, 8 hours later start it up. on the drive home cyl 2 will die completely. no matter what rpm. heres the kicker, while rolling down the highway shut the engine off and start it back up.and the skip goes away. then about 30 seconds to 2 min. later it starts skipping again.
so i limp home, grab my scan tool, and reset the cel. the problem will go away then after work the next day same thing on the way home.

it seems to me that it has to do with the ecu monitors. once i complete the drive cycle to set all of the monitors the problem occours. reset the monitors and it will go away untill i complete another drive cycle.
