weird mbc

well this mbc came with the car when I purchased it. since buying the car I have done a few things. 1st thing I noticed when I bought the car the mbc was boosting 15psi and that's it without the screw in it. I changed the way the mbc was installed and did it the right way from the bov,intake mani and wastegate now this p.o.s either boost way above 20psi without the screw in it or or it only boost to 10psi with the screw in it. Question is can I fix this? I'm assuming its a homedepot mbc because it has 2 fittings screwed together. I don't want to buy another boost control if I don't have to because I want to save up to get other things for the car. What do you guys think?

How far are you screwing it in? If you can only screw it in a little and you still only get 10psi, then it probably means that the spring inside is too strong. In that case you'll need a weaker spring. I'm assuming this is a ball and spring type of mbc, though.

Yea its the one that has a spring and ball inside. So ur saying go to homedepot and get a softer srping and maybe alittle longer?

Yeah, a softer, longer spring should help solve your problem.

just buy another mbc. They are cheap and will save you headaches and trip after trip to home depot. If you bought this car with "budget performance" in mind, they you are in for it. Dont' expect to be able to drive it without sinking stupid amounts of money into it over the next few months. Spending all your paycheck on it is normal for dsms.

go to www.boostcontroller.com and get a Joe P. BC. It will be the best thing and it is only a few bucks. Like someone else said it will be a bit more money, but will save you a ton of time and headache. I had mine for 2.5 years before I got my Profec and it never let me down.
