Can someone tell me where this hanging wire belongs?

If it matters, ever since I found this wire just hanging around, my stock oil pressure gauge no longer works.

Thanks,

Joe

Can you offer a picture?

I just re-did my power steering unit about 2 weeks ago, I didn't notice any missing wires or anything acting strange.

If it matters, 97 Eclipse Spyder GST

There is a little prong on the top of the pump where it hooks. You won't notice anything different while driving the car with it un hooked. Look at the back of the pump and you will see it.

That would have to be for the oil gauge than. The oil light wire is hooked up, and the ps sensor is hooked up. The only other thing is the oil pressure gauge wire. Do you have an aftermarket gauge, or stock gauge still?

Black,

And I think that is my problem :)

It's raining now, so I must wait till tomorrow =\ but I think that will get me in the direction needed. Thank you for the awesome help.

I will confirm tomorrow and let everyone know what I find out.

Thank you again.

Joe

So this fixed it, the wire that was hanging was to my oil pressure sensor. The reason I did not assume it was the wire, is it has been cut in half.

Apparently when I had my alternator belt break about 3 months back, the belt must have ripped the wire in half, leaving me with a partial piece of wire. I connected a piece of black 18 gauge wire to the part that was left, and added a female push on terminal to the other end.

After attaching the wire back to the sensor, everything worked fine.

Thanks all for the help,

Joe

did you get it figured out?? :hmm:

Thanks for the help,

Your post pointed me in the right direction, and saved me some head ache. Never know what my car is going to throw at me next, but it's always fun figuring it out LOL.
