The other day I was talking on the phone and my friend shifted my car into third gear for me, the only problem is that my foot never engaged my clutch. So after a few more minutes of contemplating, I figured out that I can put my car into third and fourth gear without pressing in the clutch. I cant do this if Im flooring it, only when Im going a constant speed and I have to take my foot off the gas pedal. My car doesnt grind, it shifts perfect. and there doesnt seem to be any problem. Is this common? I did clutch work on it a few months ago. I put in a new throwout bearing and slave cylinder everything got put back together like it was supposed to and everything was torqued down, also I had it inspected buy a mechanic. If anybody has heard of this, let me know.

yeah, it's fine. i used to do it all the time. it just means your engine is at the right speed for the gear you're going into.
