Dawson Creek,
So I just recently replaced my flywheel and clutch. I went with an Xact Flywheel and Kinetic Stage 2 Clutch. Im %100 sure that the throwout bearing is on correctly.
Heres the problem, when I push on the clutch pedal nothing happens. It goes down and feels like its working but its not. It also has a weird feeling on the pedal when you push it, its like a rapid pulsating. I bled the hydralics and adjust the clutch pedal from inside the car. Just to make sure that it is actually moving the push rod I had someone under the car while I pushed the pedal in and the push rod is moving. But now I'm stumped, any help would be awsome.

EDIT: Wording Was Confusing

I'm confused, you say it's not working in one sentence, but it is working three sentences later.

If you are positive that the system was bled correctly, but still get no pedal pressure, check the master cylinder and slave cylinder piston seals. If the slave seal is bad, fluid will leak out from the boot around the pushrod when the pedal is depressed. The master seal is more elusive-- if it is leaking, fluid will just bypass the piston and remain in the system.

Good luck finding your problem. Check out RRE's troubleshooting page: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/clutchandflywheeltech.htm (scroll down to "clutch adjustment")

Check your clutch pedal for freeplay. Push the pedal down all the way with your hand, then after it comes back up, see if you can lift up on it any more. Another way to check is to push it in and watch the master cylinder rod. If there is any visible freeplay, I would weld the pedal assembly.

Another thing to check is the pivot ball and the clutch fork. Many people use a washer or two under the pivot ball when installing a new clutch to make up for any wear on the ball.

When you push the clutch in there is pressure, the push rod moves, it pushes on the fork and so forth. But it doesnt disengage the clutch. It is like it's not pushing far enough. Is this starting to sound like a problem with my throwout bearing ? :barf: And does anyone have any idea's as to why the clutch pedal has this pulsating feeling?

Was your flywheel surfaced to the correct step height? .608-.610 is the norm. Also, did you check your clutch fork when you had the tranny out, make sure its not bent and isnt worn.

I bought the flywheel new so why would I need it resurfaced

Just because its new, doesn't mean the step height is correct. I run the Xact flywheel & while the step height when new was correct on mine, I know of others who's were off & had to get them machined. Things to check would be master & slave for leaks (if their leaking you may not be getting the full travel), pedal assembly play, bent fork, pivot ball wear (did you replace this, like you should have?) & are you sure the pedal is adjusted correctly?

Im going thru the same thing.
I have replaced everything with no luck so now im on to the pedal assembly.
Diamondstarmotorsport.com sells a new pedal assembly for like 75 bucks i think it was.
If you dont wont to weld yours.

I just went through all the trouble of taking out the pedal assembly and it looks perfect:cry: No rounded edge,no missing bushings. I don't know what to do next.
