hey so my 1g intermittently makes this strange rattle/chatter/buzzing sound from the head that is audible from 1k rpms up to 3k rpms where it goes away. the sound comes and goes, sometimes it is there after the car warms up (5 min idle) and other times its not heard for days and then all of sudden there it is again. this sound was here when i got the car (nearly 12,000 miles have been put on it since:rocks:) and the PO was aware of it but never could get it sorted, he even informed me that he took it to the local chrysler dealer and they were stumped. i got a steal on this car because the guy couldnt get the clevis pin back in for the MC after trying for what he referred to as "months" to reinstall it after replacing the MC. i overlooked the sound because the car seemed to run amazing other than the sound which at the time was intermittent also. any ideas? and dont tell me to search ive been researching this on and off since i got the car but never got a good answer other than the thought of ripping the head apart for inspection which atm isnt viable as this is a much needed and used dd otherwise id tare it down and hopefully sort it that way...

i would check waterpump for shaft play. also, make sure the fuel rail bolts are tight, CAS is tight, pull your valve cover and make sure the cams are secure, no play around bearings. may even have a alternator. sound travels. i thought a had head noise for a bit a while back, and tore into it and nothing. turns out my ac tensioner bracket was loose. i let it run and searched the entire engine bay over with a flashlight very closely and thightened it down, problem solved. it could be many things. check the most obvious, and if nothing dig deeper. lmk what you find. hop this helps.
