Eric, how does one go about getting a suppressor fitted to a gun? I thought they were more or less illegal in all states. However, I did see a guy with a .22 pistol equipped with a suppressor at the local range, so I'm sure it's doable. I'm just not sure how.

That .308 looks nice, by the way. You've got me interested in getting something like that.

All you need is a threaded barrel. They're a bit longer and threaded on the outside end. I'm not 100% sure about about the legalities, though. I'm interested in that too.

I've been looking into the price of threaded barrels for my XDM. I figure, if I'm going to do it, I might as well get a 9mm conversion barrel threaded, that way I can shoot 9mm OR .40 SW at my discretion and have the 9mm be suppressed, if need be.

I'm also just considering doing the 9mm conversion and getting this compensator, OR getting a threaded .40 barrel and getting this compensator.

Unfortunately for you guys, suppressors are only legal for Class III people in Michigan. In Washington (my state) they are legal if you register them with the BATF and pay a $200 tax stamp each. For Michigan though, there is no such loophole

Silencers are legal for private ownership in the following states: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MO (with C&R), MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. Additionally, they maybe owned by Class 3 dealers and Class 2 manufacturers (but not individuals) in: CA, IA, MA, and MI.

Also Paul was correct, you only need a threaded barrel. If you were going to do a 9/40 barrel conversion, you would best get a .40 suppressor (if they were legal in your area) and use it for both calibers! Some suppressors work for different calibers.

As for the 308, it's for sale, PM me if you are interested. Scope and Suppressor not included. It is known as the SASS (Semi Auto Sniper System) -- absolutely accurate, awesome trigger, reliable, and very customizable.

We can have NFA weapons (tax stamp, yadda yadda), this was approved by our AG Mike Cox a few years ago, and the silencer thing is in the works. As of right now, only Class III and Law Enforcement/Military can have suppressors.

I think silencers have a "neato" factor...but I really don't have a want or need for one. And I can do without the gas kickback on full auto (cough, cough) that sucks. haha!

Only for a few months, until I get mobilized, then it's my son's 1st car (which explains the automatic, non-turbo) Now if I had bought one for me, you can guarantee I'd have the GSX... which I may try to get sometime before or after I get back from deployment.

Just like guns... Gotta get what makes ya happy, and I love performance....

Thanks! That's part of what I have... If I threw in hunting/plinking rifles and the guns I acquired while having a C&R FFL I'd need to create an album, haha!

Oh, I'll get that GSX soon enough! I'm leaving the country for a year (mobilization) and it's gonna be my sons first car. That'd just be recipe for disaster... It'd be kinda like just learning to fly and then getting an F16...you know it's not gonna end good. haha!

FN Five Seven...nice!

I liked it a lot until i shot it. Then I loved it . I shot 3 mags (90rds) literally as fast as I could at about 40ft and put every single one in about a 4" group. It has as much kick as a .22 pistol I got the version with the tritium night sights. This gun is worth every penny!!!!
