Since this got dug up, I'd like to offer a "WTF" to this post:
Ooookkkkaay?

I owned the G23 and currently own an XD-40 subcompact. So, I hear alot of good thing about the Glock .40 (#23) and the Springfield XD .40 (4"). Which would you guys recommend over the other?
I haven't shot either, but I've held both. The Springfield fits a tad bit better in my hand, but I like the weight of the Glock better. Both seem to have a good track record and they are the same price. I plan to buy one or the other for myself as an earily Christmas present tomorrow. I just wanted to get some "one VS. the other" opinions first.
I know just what you mean. The most natural feel I've ever aimed was the Luger, and the virtually-identical Ruger Mark I. They just aim out of my hand naturally, while the 1911 and other even-less angled grips feel cranked.I liked the Glock alot but the shooting position felt weird. It felt like the gun was tilted down the whole time, but whether that is the gun's fault or my own, I don't know.
Good deal, man! I love the little mag pouch that the 4" and 5" get. Thanks for the advice, Kris. I ended up picking up an XD40 4" yesterday. And I put 200 rounds through it this morning. I love everything about this gun except for the sights. Here's some pics.

Kris, which sights would you recommend for the XD? I finally made it to an indoor range with my 4" XD and I've come to realize that with my failing eyesight and these dovetail 3-dot sights, I'm not as accurate as I want to be. Don't get me wrong - I'm no Mr Magoo with a gun, but my grouping isn't as tight as I would like. I also shot my father's Kimber 1911 (.45) that same day and the sights are much nicer than that of my XD's. I had better accuracy and a tighter grouping with his gun. So, it's time for some prescription glasses and some better sights that are adjustable for more than just windage.I'm kinda up in the air on how I like the sights on my piece. I think I'd like to get some quality night-sights on there at some point, but for now, the lead still goes where it needs to.
The TruGlo kit looks nice. It's a green/red color combo, which I like, and only $50 on eBay.I've looked into Trijicon (sp) but I'm a bit broke so they never got purchased. Let me know what you go with.
