No you can't. You need to hold the cam shaft in place in order to loosen the sprocket bolts / tork the new ones on. You also need to basically do all the steps for a T-Belt R&R unless you follwo the shortcut method HERE

Out of curiosity, why put cam gears on stock cams. They may look cool, but IMO more cost and risk than benefit

For a couple hundred more and 15mins extra labor, you could of added 25+ WHP with cams (FP1/FP2) :dsm:

when ya figure you have to basicly to the same work as a t-belt install.
the v/c should be the LEAST of your worries.

Im sure you have dyno runs planned after the cam gears ?
This is 1 mod -- you cannot dial in with the butt'o'meter

my buddie and i have done it before. after his motor rebuild we found out that the timing was 1 tooth off. so we removed the valve cover and timing belt cover. we then held the cams in place with a wrench while we slowly pryed the timing belt off the cam gears. ALSO I WOULD NOT ADVISE DOING THIS SINCE AFTER WE DID IT WE THREW TIMING AGAIN. we think this is because we had to strech the belt to get it off the cam gears

yeah i have no problem taking the tbelt off... just wondering if theres a way but owell... i guess ill take it all apart.. i just have COP and it sucks cause the rubbers always are a pain to get off the spark plugs.

tried the "spark plug lube" but that stuff just dries up after it gets warm.

and yeah this bad boy is gonna be dynoed... see if my small fmic can hold up to my GT35R when it comes today :) heh also have an aem which im working on now and a few other things...
