I switched from a water cooled oil filter to a air cooled oil filter. There is a line coming off the water pipe that went to the oil cooler for the coolant. Should i just cap it off? any suggestions?

A N/T waterpipe is ideal but a common fix it to hoseclamp the hose on the pipe, then in the other end just stick a bolt that is a tight fit in the hose and hose clamp that on. I have seen it dozens of time's with no negative effects.

cleanest and probably worry free is just getting a N/T pipe. i had one off my NT motor. i've seen some other guy use a bolt w/ teflon tape.

If he swaps to a NT water pipe, he will lose the coolant feed to the front of the turbo (unless he gets it from a different source). But if he is on a turbo that doesnt need coolant, then I highly recommend swapping to a NT water pipe.

When I swapped to a air cooler oil filter housing, I made a metal coolant line (1/4" OD) and had it run from the nipple off the water pipe to the tstat housing. I connected both ends with 3" of rubber line (1/4" ID).

My setup consists of a NT water pipe now and I threw out the line I made. It was perfect. It ran along the face of the block perfectly tucked away. It cost me about $4 dollars to make.

I am running a 16G and I believe there was only one single line (if your standing in front of your car facing in) that ran straight to the oil cooler.

There is also another line that is further down the pipe that hooks up to your turbo for coolant feed (unless you tapped it from another source or you are talking about a 2G water pipe)

But yes, to complete this air oil cooler swap, you will need to weld that nipple shut or loop a line to have it recirculate somewhere

Or do it the ghetto way and put a rubber hose with a clamp on the nipple and then put a bolt in the other end of the rubber hose. THIS IS NOT MY PREFERRED METHOD.

There is 2 lines sorry...its ok to cap both off correct? would it be bad to loop them?
