2G Water Temp Gauge Flickering

So I'm just driving to the store today, and I see something flickering from the corner of my eye, it turns out to be my temp gauge, it keeps twitching down to the C constantly then going back up to the middle, then dropping way down and just going up/down rapidly. Just wondering would a bad sensor cause this, also, if not, then what would?

Check the wire connection to the temp sending unit - it's probably loose, or the tang on the temp sending unit is loose.

I had to resolder mine back on since I was experiencing the same thing.

def sounds like the problem, both of my dsm's are known for those unconnecting
