Wastegate?

They are the valves that release built up pressure produce from your turbo. Our cars come stock with internal wastegates mounted to the turbo. They have springs which keep their valves closed but once a boost limit is reached, they open and stop the turbo from building more boost.

And yes, every 2g comes with them from the factory.

thought a BOV was for that -_- .... i am noob

A blow off valve (aka diverter valve or bypass valve) vents pressure from the intake piping when you let off the throttle. Otherwise the air will try to flow backwards past the turbo and cause surge.

A wastegate bypasses exhaust gasses around the turbine to control the amount of boost generated by the turbo. Otherwise your boost would continue to climb until something failed.

Only turbocharged DSM's have them. The NT models do not need to vent pressure or regulate a turbine- They have no turbo.

Edit- Lawrence, we seem to be on the same page. :)
