I took the wastegate off to seal it (had small leak at where it connects to the manifold). When I put it back on the wastegate was dumping at idle. I drove the car, it boosts to 15 psi like normal, but has weak acceleration. What can cause it to stay open?

Are you positive the gate is open? Have a boost controller? If so, did you mess with that at all?

Wait, is this internally gated or external?

Tial 38mm is what i have. It's stuck open, I feel exhaust releasing from the dump. I did not touch the boost controller at all.. :laser:

Are you missing this valve seat between your wastegate and the manifold flange?

This stays on the wastegate right? I believe I have it i'll take the WG off and check.

Update: I'm an idiot for letting my friend try to to take the WG off and put it back on. I just found the valve seat sitting on my workbench..I'll put it back on and tell you what happens.

Yeah, it's like a ring that goes in there and seats between the wastegate and the wastegate flange.
