Wastegate line question

Hi

My dad has a 93 tsi awd. Im posting this for him.
He has a punishment racing fmic kit on the car and a big 16g turbo. He needs somewhere to connect the wastegate line. The kit is made out of aluminium and he doesnt want to weld a nipple on it. What should he do? Is there another option to tap boost out of the jpipe?

You could drill and tap the j-pipe and screw in a brass hose barb fitting? Wouldn't require any welding there.

The j pipe is your best spot to drill and tap a barb fitting for the wastegate as mentioned above.

Yeap.

The J pipe is the perfect place to feed the Wastegate.

Make sure to put some Epoxy to the Barb Fitting to make a perfect seal, other wise it can leak some boost.

If he doesn't want to tap it himself, then get a new j-pipe that has it done already.

I had to search up brass fitting. It looks pretty good and simple. This can only be done on the straight part of the Jpipe right?

Yes on the strait part right after the bend that's where mine is and it works great. Make sure he uses some kind of sealent or thread tape to ensure a food seal.
