Wastegate flex pipe return

Hi i am curious as to if any of you have ever recirculated your external wastegate with a flex pipe like this? It seems like a cheap and easy way to reroute the exhaust back in without an expensive o2 housing or lots of fab work. Im just more curious if it would seal good and how the flex section would hold up over time?

I have never had any experience with this but i am going to share my opinion if it counts.
I honestly think that's crap. Doesn't look as strong as having a true stainless steel or mild steel pipe that routes back into the exhaust, plus those thread connections provide a chance of an exhaust leak at the dump tube-to-downpipe connection if that's where you plan to put it.
I would do it the tried and trusted way and route it back correctly.

Buy a single 1.55" ubend (for 38mm) from a reputable SS supplier (woolf aircraft, or burns) and just have someone with a tig make you a solid dump tube that sits right next to your d-pipe. Then throw a worm clamp around both and viola! you have a dump tube that wont vibrate itself loose, or break a weld, or wind up hitting a tie down strap as flex sections wander...

Im confused with what you mean by throw a worm clamp around both. Do you mean weld up a custom dump tube to reroute into the down pipe and attach it to the wastegate and down pipe with a hose and hose clamps? If you did this could you post some pics?

No, i am talking about dumping the wastegate to the atmos, but near the bend of the d-pipe so that you can use the d-pipe to dampen the vibrations that would otherwise occur in the wastegate tube and possibly (probably) break welds.

Thanks for posting the pics although this may work good to reduce vibrations that could brake welds im looking to recirculate the exhaust from the wastegate back into the exhaust system so its not as loud.

That looks funky as hell, but im sure you can make something yourself that will work just as good. I have a hard pipe coming off my wastegate and a flex section extending the dump further down. Ive been thinking of adding something to my dowpipe so i can recirculate it but i def wouldn't use whats in the link you posted.

That AN fitting SS line sure is nice...

Until you realize its for a wastegate... I would guess that will last approximately 5 minutes combined under boost.
You know those lines are rubber inside right? FLAMES hotter than this thread are emitted from a wastegate.

I've seen this type of exhaust used on industrial backup generators.
The flex is to stop transmission of vibrations and allow movement in case there is a earthquake or a shift in the foundation or steel.

The real ones have a gooseneck flex pipe inside the SS, not rubber, and hold up very well. Not sure about the ebay one though.
