wastegate flapper siezed shut!! wtf??

alright so ive recently been having some overboosting problems which is making me have some massive fuel cut. I tried putting a mbc on to see if that would help my problem, no such luck. so today i went and took my wastegate off to see if it was damaged and maybe not opening properly, the i went to move the flapper, yea wouldnt budge!

what you guys think I could do? would just putting some wd40 on it and moving it till it works fine or what? I have a blown 14b, should i just swap exhaust housings? any advice would be great. thanks

Try removing the actuator and see if you can get the flapper to open using your hands, if its not stuck against the housing, then it could be a bad actuator

I took the actuator off, i have to tap the flapper with a hammer to get it to move.

Sounds like it set for a while and just has some rust build up. Work the hell out of it for a while and hope it loosens up.

Like mentioned above, if the car sat too long, my have some build up keeping it from opening....gently tap it to see if it loosens....try and pry it....shoot some pb blaster or wd40 in there and gently tap it

Maybe it's got some rust or something in it that's keeping it from opening. See if you can work it loose...maybe use some WD40 or something.

I'm going to take a stab at this and say you probably have some rust build-up on it. I'd try to work it loose, perhaps with PB Blaster, or WD-40.

alright ya smartasses haha ill hit it with some wd40 and work on it. If it doesnt losen up im plannin on just takin the flapper out, weld up the hole and just go external.
