:confused:i am a little lost on wastegates/ boost controllers.
i have found a tial wastegate that has a 7psi spring in it,does that mean that i can only set my boost controller to 7psi. i have noticed that they have diff springs for higher psi. does the spring setting have to match the boost controller setting.i am a little lost. also on the wastegate there are 2 outlets i know one is bolted to the exhaust manifold, where does the other outlet hook up 2. please help!!!

Yep, you can only run as low as your spring, and some say only 2 times the spring rate, however this isn't necesarily true. When you say 'outlets' are you referring to where the exhaust acutally goes through? If so, it bolts on to your manifold/o2 and the other is just the outlet, either reroute it back into your exhaust(if you want it quiet) or dump it to the atmosphere(louder). If your referring to the vacuum ports on it, if you have a MBC hook it up to the nipple on the middle of the wastegate and the hole on the end of it should be left open, unless you have a EBC. Hope that helps.

:thumb:thanks for the info. now on the wastegate on the second port that's pose to be re ran back into the exhaust or in the atmospheric, if i were to run it back into the exhaust, can i run straight to to down pipe....or does it have to go to a certain point in the exhaust. is there any performance difference if i ran it back into the exhaust

Yes you can run it back into the downpipe. Just make sure you can get it back apart somehow. :D A lot of people run it back into a tubular o2 housing, but if you don't have one it's probably better to return it to the downpipe. As far as performance wise, it's better to have it dump back into the exhaust at an angle that isn't to interruptive to the exhaust flow, such as a 90 degree angle. If that makes sense. It probably isn't that big of a deal, but something to keep in mind. Good luck!
