boost controller questions

my car has a manual boost controller and i was wondering with stock components except a 16g and a new BOV and intake, how much boost should i be able to push? what is the limiting factor?

Run stock boost without the proper supporting mods that allow you to turn up your boost , fuel pump , injectors , fpr , s-afc ..etc

so around 10 .

You can increase boost until you knock, go lean, or hit fuel cut - whichever comes first.
If you don't have a way to monitor those things, you can't increase it at all. 10 PSI is actually less than stock, so you should be fine if you can even get it that low.

ok i am running 10 now, just wanted to make sure i wasnt over doing it or being too much of a pansy.

I believe 14psi is stock so your running it safely.

First of all stock is 14-15 PSI so if your running 10 your way below stock. I would leave it at 14PSI and go from there! I'm running 16PSI and my car is running fine! I have WideBand though! - Ryann

1G cars have a stock boost pressure of 8-12 psi. 2G cars have 10-15 psi. The service manual allows lower pressures, but those are rarely seen in actual vehicles. 1000 Already Answered Questions - Index page

* To be safe if this is your daily driver , stay at around 10 until you get the supporting mods and feel safe running higher boost .
