Waste gate actuator question

I have a Greddy 18g turbo on my 2g talon, the WG actuator broke today, it was a for a Subaru, should I replace it with what was on there or should I put a different one on. I believe the internal wastegate is housing is stock. It is setup for internal dump.

Well the main idea is to get one that bolts to the right spots long enough to attach to the wastegate flapper. You have a boost controller so even if the spring rate isn't the exact same you can compensate. Personally, I'd get the exact same one, if it works why complicate things.

I would say that if you can find one thats the same, go with that...unless it was a flaw in the design of the original actuator that failed, then you'd probably want to change it

The Greddy 18G uses a specific actuator based on it's mounting position in relation to the cover. It's not a Subaru actuator, and you're not going to easily track down a replacement.

Using your existing bracket you should be able to fab something using a Garrett or Holset actuator head- something that is not as large in diameter as a MHI actuator. Basically don't plan on using a 16G actuator to get this up and running- it's not going to work out too well.

Cool, thanks for the input guys. The Subaru actuator actually fits quite well, only allows one bolt hole to lime up, but I can fab the bracket so that I can utilize both mounting bolts.
